I got my only nickname from a best friend of mine on my first cross country excursion. We made our own trail, 4,100 miles from Providence, Rhode Island to San Francisco, California. With 30 other amazing people, we rode our Giant Defy road bikes, zig-zagging across the country.

Our mission was to raise money and awareness for the affordable housing crisis in this county, through an amazing nonprofit called Bike and Build. This organization truly changes thousands of lives every year; both those who receive the nonprofit's charity, and those who are inspired to give to it.

Everyone from that trip knows me as Mogli.
Shortly after we finished that two and a half month journey, I began daydreaming about my next epic adventure. I was working in the San Bernardino National Forest, near Big Bear, California when I got hooked on the idea of hiking the entirety of the trail that then ran through my backyard.
Now, five years later, the dream is becoming a reality. Come May 11th, 2014 I will take my first steps on the Pacific Crest Trail.
looking forward to following you on your quest!!with every step you take , with every breath you take, I'll be watching you. Love gram and gramp.
ReplyDeleteHey Dan I remember when you were a toddler. You stood by the door and insisted on going out. I tried to explain about the rain but you still insisted outside. I figured a couple of minutes and you would want to come in, that was not the case you enjoyed splashing and would stay all day. Enjoy the outdoors. Have a great trip love dad
